A personalized cardiology is now becoming possible, as DNA sequencing costs fall. It covers gene-based diagnostics, preventive medicine, and custom therapeutics. It offers the broadest range of personalized therapies based on pharmacogenetics. Translation of genomic and high-tech approaches will transform clinical practice. Care providers must examine drivers and barriers to adoption of this new paradigm.
