Expression of CO producing enzymes increases in the mPOA after sexual experience. HO-1 increases acutely and HO-2 increases after repeated experiences. Some co-expression between nNOS- and HO-expressing cells. Broad regional expression differences between hypothalamic nuclei. CO may be important for behavioral changes after sexual experience.
