We used the updated high-resolution gridded dataset across China. Analyze spatial-temporal variability of ETo based on the agricultural region scale. Relative contributions of climatic factors to ETo were temporally unstable and varied. WS was the major factor dominating variability of ETo in China, followed by Tm, SD, RH and Tn.
