Methane steam reforming at 400–550 °C offers advantages for hydrogen production.

Ni and Rh on La2O3–ZrO2 and La2O3–CeO2–ZrO2 were tested in steam reforming of methane and biogas at 400–550 °C.

Ni and Rh on La2O3–CeO2–ZrO2 were found very active and coke-resistant.

Carbon formed on Ni and Rh on La2O3–CeO2–ZrO2 after 90 h was remarkably low and reactive.
