Manganese(II) chloride alters behavioral and neurochemical parameters in larvae and adult zebrafish

MnCl2 treatment decreased exploratory behaviors in zebrafish larvae and adults. MnCl2 treatment impaired aversive long-term memory in zebrafish adults. Overall Brain TH levels were altered in adults and larvae after MnCl2 treatment. DOPAC levels were increased in adult animals exposed to MnCl2. MnCl2 exposure increased apoptotic markers, such as p53, caspase-8 and Bax-α.
