Phase stability of fully InO1.5 stabilized zirconia (cubic InSZ) was evaluated. Cubic InSZ is instable at temperatures ≥ 1000 °C, owing to the cubic-to-tetragonal-to-monoclinic destabilization. Cubic InSZ undergoes the cubic-to-tetragonal transformation at ~ 800 °C. Owing to the low phase stability, applications of cubic InSZ in TBCs or SOFCs are restricted.
