Copper was exposed to groundwater with and without deep bedrock micro-organisms. Biofilm composition was determined and correlated with the behaviour of copper. Under biotic conditions, the film of Cu2S formed on copper surfaces. Bacterial pool was in a key role for the morphology and properties of Cu2S film. Under abiotic conditions, Cu2O systematically developed on copper surfaces.
