l-Cysteine has been studied as corrosion inhibitor for MS in 1 M HCl at 30–60 °C.

Techniques include weight loss, PDP, EIS, FT-IR and SEM.

l-Cysteine significantly reduces the corrosion rates of MS.

Effect of SDS, CPC and TX on the IE of l-cysteine has also been studied.

IE of l-cysteine synergistically increases in the presence of surfactants.
