The transition process of the obese adolescents in this study was complex with several dimensions and phases.
The transition process led not only to weight reduction but also helped these adolescents to grow as human beings.
They gained a new view of themselves, a higher level of well-being and a feeling of dignity.
Their self-image was strengthened and they even considered themselves a resource who could contribute to society.
Their expectations and belief in their own ability increased over time.
