Metabolic fate and detectability of the new psychoactive substances 2-(4-bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-N-[(2-methoxyphenyl)methyl]ethanamine (25B-NBOMe) and 2-(4-chloro-2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-N-[(2-methoxyphenyl)methyl]ethanamine (25C-NBOMe) in human and rat urine by GC-MS, LC-MSn, and LC-HR-MS/MS approaches

First detailed Orbitrap-based study on metabolism and detectability of two New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) in urine by GC and LC–MS techniques. The analytical novelty consists of the description of the identification power of various GC–MS and LC–(HR)–MS techniques. The corresponding reference spectra and their interpretation are basis for routine drug testing and of great relevance for all toxicologists. First comparison of metabolism data obtained from in vivo studies with three different species and from human in cellulo and in vitro studies.
