Reports non-acetone forming Clostridium sporogenes NCIM 2918 for alcohol production. Sorbitol & instant dry yeast showed maximum butanol 12.1 g L−1 & ethanol 7.9 g L−1. Substrate dependent modulation of butanol-ethanol ratio was observed. Glucose:pure glycerol ratio of 60:40 gave highest total alcohol titer of 24 g L−1. Glucose:crude glycerol ratio resulted in butanol 11.2 g L−1 & ethanol 11.7 g L−1.
