Wide-sense non-blocking multirate three-stage switching networks with multicast connections are considered in this paper. New conditions for wide-sense non-blocking multicast switching networks are derived and proved. It is shown that using an algorithm proposed in papers published earlier [K.S. Chan, S. Chan, K.L. Yeung, in: Proceedings of the GLOBECOM, Phoenix, AZ, 1997, pp. 526-530; K.S. Chan, S. Chan, K.L. Yeung, Electron. Lett. 33 (1997) 462–464], it is possible to construct a non-blocking network with less switches in a middle stage.
