Cd induced the expression of ZmWRKY4, ZmSOD4 and ZmcAPX. Maize transcription factor ZmWRKY4 was localized in nucleus. Overexpression of ZmWRKY4 upregulated the expression of ZmSOD4 and ZmcAPX and the activities of antioxidant enzymes.
