HCFs, a novel carbon nanomaterial, have fascinating 3D-helical/spiral morphology in combination with excellent properties and potential applications.

HCFs and related materials have high structural stability, high electrical conductivity, and significant: elastic, magnetic, thermal and optical properties.

HCFs show excellent field emission and electromagnetic wave absorption properties.

As a catalyst, HCFs with metallic impurities are comparatively more effective than pure HCFs for hydrogen sorption from hydrogen storage materials.

HCFs and related materials are applicable in a variety of fields including electrocatalyst for fuel cells, supercapacitor electrodes, micro/nano devices, reinforcement, various types of sensors, hydrogen storage materials, and chiral catalysts, etc.
