A new kind of asphalt-based porous carbon nanofiber networks has been synthesized via electrospinning technique. The porous nature of nanofibers is beneficial for electrolyte penetration and sodium-ions transportation. This kind of carbon nanofiber exhibits a reversible capacity of 210 mA h g−1 at current density of 500 mA g−1 even after 1000 cycles.
