The Aotus nancymaae red blood cell proteome was analysed for the first time. > 95% of proteins were similar between primates and humans. Essential proteins for cell survival were identified according to GO terms. Integral membrane receptors for Plasmodium infection were found. The proteins reported here are important for future biomedical research.
