Cellulose nanofibers were obtained from different sources and mechanical treatments. Resistant starch/pectin free-standing films reinforced with nanofibers were developed. Nanofibers addition improved mechanical, barrier, mucoadhesive and release properties. Nanocomposite films are promising as a poor solubility drugs carrier.
