Investigation and improvement of abrasion resistance, water vapor barrier and anticorrosion properties of mixed clay epoxy nanocomposite coating

Increase in the concentration of clay nanoparticles provided higher water vapor transmission (WVT) barrier. Introduction of clay nanoparticles inside epoxy matrix improved abrasion resistance of the coating. Interaction observed between epoxy matrix and clay nanoparticles at various concentrations. Glass transition temperature (Tg) found reducing with increase in concentration of nanoclays. Improvement in anticorrosion property observed in epoxy nanocomposite coatings.
