Role of ZnO photoanode nanostructures and sensitizer deposition approaches on the photovoltaic properties of CdS/CdSe and CdS1−xSex quantum dot-sensitized solar cells

A one-pot method to bundle-like ZnO nanorod arrays (BNRs) was developed. CdS/CdSe and CdS1-xSex QDs were deposited onto BNRs by SILAR approaches. The solar cells based on BNRs photoanode exhibit increased light absorption. The cell with CdS1-xSex show well QD distribution and reduced recombination. CdS1-xSex cell's efficiency is improved by 21% compared to the CdS/CdSe.
