Synthesis of MgO nanosheets with an ultrasonic method.

Boron from aqueous solution was removed by the MgO nanosheets.

The maximum boron adsorption capacity of MgO nanosheets reached 87 mg g−1.

The B(OH)4 and B(OH)3° species were adsorbed onto the surface of MgO nanosheets.
