Man-made fibers (either from natural materials or petrochemicals) are highly concentrated in indoor air. Fiber concentrations seem to site dependent. Microplastics are estimated to represent 33% of the fibers in indoor environments. While non inhalable, these fibers raise concern about the exposure through settled dust ingestion, especially for children.
