An O-polysaccharide was released by mild acid degradation of the lipopolysaccharide of Acinetobacter sp. VS-15 and studied by chemical methods along with ¹H and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy, including 2D ¹H,¹H COSY, TOCSY, ROESY, ¹H,¹³C HSQC and HMBC experiments. The following structure of the pentasaccharide repeating unit of the polysaccharide was established:

The O-polysaccharide of Acinetobacter lwoffii EK67 was found to have the same structure.
