NLGP treatment converts pro-tumorous tumor associated macrophages (M2TAM) to M1 phenotypes in tumor core. M2TAM to M1 conversion by NLGP is associated with downregulation of high IL-10:IL-12 ratio at tumor core. NLGP mediated M2TAM to M1 conversion is dependent on STAT3-IL-10 signalling pathway.
