Separation of glycosylated proteins allowed identification of more proteins in tear. Proteins of complement system and NETs were found only in patient tear. Factor H and negative regulators of MAC were also found in keratitis patient tear. Wound healing and anti-inflammatory proteins presumably counter inflammatory damage. Outcome of infection in individuals depends on the host-pathogen interaction.
