A refined quasi-3D isogeometric analysis for functionally graded microplates based on the modified couple stress theory

An efficient NURBS-based formulation is proposed for the size effect of microplates. A novel seventh-order quasi-3D model is developed for stretching effects of plates. The modified couple stress model efficiently captures the size effects of microplates. Some comparison and benchmark numerical results are presented. Effects of material and geometry parameters on the microplates are investigated.
