Backscattered electron (BSE) imaging confirm that 8wt% nano-silica content optimizes phase compositions A hieratical multiscale model is proposed to predict the compressive strength of nano-silica/cement systems. Model predictions and experiments reveal that 8wt% nano-silica content results in maximum compressive strength.
