The first study on the N2O production from IFAS UCT MBR is presented. 1% of the inlet nitrogen was emitted as N2O from the pilot plant. N2O concentrations in the permeate flow were comparable with other reactors. Anaerobic and the anoxic reactors represent the main source of N2O. Nitrate within the anoxic reactor influences of the N2O production.
