Mechanical energy patterns in nordic walking: comparisons with conventional walking

文摘
Propulsion through poles leads to changes in mechanics of locomotion. Nordic walking is characterized by high potential and kinetic energy fluctuations. Nordic walking benefits from higher energy recovery than conventional walking. Large swing and distal pole position increase internal work despite low pole mass. Nordic walking has a lower mechanical efficiency compared to conventional walking.
