Electrical resistivity structures of the Kunlun-Qaidam-Qilian system at the northern Tibet and their tectonic implications

New magnetotelluric data were observed across the Kunlun–Qaidam–Qilian system.

The resistivity models do not support the lower crustal flow below the Kunlun Shan Ranges.

The resistivity models indicate crustal structures are controlled by northeastward push from the interior Tibet.

The low-resistivity Qaidam Basin and a local gap cause the PROQ effect in observed data.
