文摘
Elderberry branches have high amounts of anthocyanins, flavonols and cinnamate esters. Most polyphenols present in branches and berries are the same. Extracts from branches and berries have similar antioxidant activity. Ethanol is more efficient than water to extract polyphenols from branches. Elderberry branches are an underexploited source of bioactive polyphenolic compounds.
