Zebrafish possess a developed immune system that can be used as a model for viral diseases. Zebrafish present all the main antiviral signalling pathways. Several models of human and fish viral diseases have been described in zebrafish. Antiviral drug screening is possible in zebrafish, using an automated large-scale approach.
