Azimuthal anisotropy of charged jet production in Pb-Pb collisions

Jet finding is performed employing the anti-id="mmlsi4" class="mathmlsrc">ixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si4.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=8bde6446c7e4c21bf5d7e21865c1dbd1" title="Click to view the MathML source">kTiner hidden">img="si4.gif" overflow="scroll">i>ki>i mathvariant="normal">Ti> algorithm with a resolution parameter id="mmlsi5" class="mathmlsrc">ixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si5.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=f17e38ffc9bf41b4ab05059c2afe8ae2" title="Click to view the MathML source">R=0.2iner hidden">img="si5.gif" overflow="scroll">i>Ri>=0.2 using charged tracks from the ALICE tracking system. The contribution of the azimuthal anisotropy of the underlying event is taken into account event-by-event. The remaining (statistical) region-to-region fluctuations are removed on an ensemble basis by unfolding the jet spectra for different event plane orientations independently. Significant non-zero id="mmlsi3" class="mathmlsrc">itle="View the MathML source" class="mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si3.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=a502abb3ef571b344332c237a661101d"><img class="imgLazyJSB inlineImage" height="20" width="37" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" src="/sd/grey_pxl.gif" data-inlimgeid="1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si3.gif">ipt><img height="20" border="0" style="vertical-align:bottom" width="37" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" src="http://origin-ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si3.gif">ipt>iner hidden">img="si3.gif" overflow="scroll">i>vi>2i mathvariant="normal">chi> i mathvariant="normal">jeti> is observed in semi-central collisions (30–50% centrality) for id="mmlsi6" class="mathmlsrc">itle="View the MathML source" class="mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si6.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=2fa6848d63c95add4d7a510e3f1234bd"><img class="imgLazyJSB inlineImage" height="20" width="145" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" src="/sd/grey_pxl.gif" data-inlimgeid="1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si6.gif">ipt><img height="20" border="0" style="vertical-align:bottom" width="145" alt="View the MathML source" title="View the MathML source" src="http://origin-ars.els-cdn.com/content/image/1-s2.0-S0370269315009958-si6.gif">ipt>iner hidden">img="si6.gif" overflow="scroll">20<i>pi>i mathvariant="normal">Ti>i mathvariant="normal">chi> i mathvariant="normal">jeti><90 GeV/i>ci>. The azimuthal dependence of the charged jet production is similar to the dependence observed for jets comprising both charged and neutral fragments, and compatible with measurements of the id="mmlsi7" class="mathmlsrc">ixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si7.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=944f8b730bcac9bffb264c63b0082d73" title="Click to view the MathML source">v2iner hidden">img="si7.gif" overflow="scroll">i>vi>2 of single charged particles at high id="mmlsi8" class="mathmlsrc">ixSupport mathImg" data-mathURL="/science?_ob=MathURL&_method=retrieve&_eid=1-s2.0-S0370269315009958&_mathId=si8.gif&_user=111111111&_pii=S0370269315009958&_rdoc=1&_issn=03702693&md5=d326eba5bc19e18321ee2db7aae3cd7f" title="Click to view the MathML source">pTiner hidden">img="si8.gif" overflow="scroll">i>pi>i mathvariant="normal">Ti>. Good agreement between the data and predictions from JEWEL, an event generator simulating parton shower evolution in the presence of a dense QCD medium, is found in semi-central collisions.
