Mastic design by volume should be considered instead of typical design by weight. Mastic stiffness and failure strain were evaluated using a strain sweep test. The behaviour of hydrated lime is different from that of natural fillers. Granite stiffens the mastic excessively, especially at low temperatures. Limestone filler has the best fatigue behaviour.
