Hypopnea criteria do not alter the proportion of OSA patients with positional OSA. The AASM 2012 recommended hypopnea criteria increase the proportion of females with positional OSA. Minimum recording times in each sleeping position can significantly affect the proportion of OSA patients deemed positional.
