The relationship between sleep apnea, metabolic dysfunction and inflammation: The gender influence
详细信息    查看全文
文摘
OSA can differently affect respiratory sleep parameters according to gender. OSA men presented greater apnea index and lower N3 sleep stage than OSA women. Postmenopause was related to increased apnea-hypopnea index during REM in OSA women. OSA was associated with higher TNF-α in women and higher leptin levels in men. Sexual hormones may play a role in the inflammatory consequences associated with OSA.
