Octopus bimaculatus was successfully tagged and tracked using acoustic telemetry. Larger octopuses moved more, but overall there was high variability in movement and few discernable patterns. O. bimaculatus is highly mobile compared to octopus species of similar size. This is the smallest octopus species to be tracked with acoustic telemetry to date.
