Whole-tree, stump harvest and wood ash application effects on trace metal cycling were reviewed. No consistent stump harvest effect evident on mercury methylation and fluxes. Wood ash given at compensatory rates give no further metal accumulation in soil. Wood ash sometimes increases trace metal concentrations in soil, but not in fungi or berries.
