We compared the catch efficiency of floated cod pots with one and two entrances. Pots with one entrance caught more cod and haddock than pots with two entrances. The catch increase for pots with one entrance was explained by a lower escape rate. The escape rate from pots with two entrances was estimated to be greater than 50%.
