The transcript level of each FGF was analyzed by qRT-PCR and the expression was localized by in situ hybridization.

Fgf1, Fgf2, Fgf5, Fgf6, Fgf7, Fgf9, Fgf10, Fgf13, Fgf15, Fgf16 and Fgf18 were expressed in tongue mesenchyme.
