DASF method was used to evaluate band gap (Eg) & exact nature of optical transitions. DASF was employed on ZnSe and ZnSe:Cu NCs synthesized by rapid microwave irradiation. Eg ranged from 2.985 to 3.261 eV, decreases with increase of irradiation time. Refractive index and dielectric constant of NCs were obtained at the absorption edge. Urbach energy was 0.049–0.122 eV, implying to good crystallinity nature of samples.
