Single-stage DEA models assess the radial and mix efficiency of DMUs in one step.

These models use a small lower bound epsilon on input and output weights.

Single-stage models generally incur approximation and computational errors.

We prove that for all sufficiently small epsilon, there is no approximation error.

We develop a programing approach for the assessment of the threshold value of epsilon.
