New absolute ages allow divide La Escalerilla pluton (s.l.) into two plutons. The data suggest an Ordovician age for LEP and Devonian age for EVP. New results show that both plutons are composed of several facies. LEP and EVP are related to orogenic and post-orogenic Famatinian magmatism. The plutons show geochemical contrast indicating different depth of origin.
