Migmatitic granulite facies orthogneiss contains deformed leucosome and restite. Strain is partitioned into plagioclase-rich leucosome. Plagioclase deforms by subgrain rotation recrystallization during dislocation creep. Plagioclase grain size reduction promotes a transition to grain boundary sliding. Grain boundary sliding is maintained by phase mixing, leading to strain localization.
