Osmotic stress triggers several phospholipid signalling pathways in Chlamydomonas. Salt-acclimation affects both growth and phospholipid-signalling responses. Lipid responses in acclimated cells are lower, and shifted to higher osmotic stress levels. Lipid responses involve five independent routes, i.e. PI(3,5)P2, PI(4,5)P2, PA, DGPP and LPA. Acclimation to moderate salt stress modifies stress perception and downstream signalling pathways.
