IL-6 trans-signaling is involved in IL-1β-induced upregulation of OPN. IL-1β-induced IL-6 increased expression of OPN. IL-1β increased soluble IL-6 receptor production via ADAM activity. IL-1β-upregulated ADAM17 mediated OPN elevation.
