DIC species and chemical variables significantly increase in the drought period.

Drought can switch the lake system from sink to source of atmospheric CO2.

Varied empirical k models provide a reasonable range of CO2 emission rates.

Our calculated CO2 emission rates are in the low end of previously published ranges.
