Balance problems after the GPi-DBS are of concern for dystonia patients. Dystonia impairs anticipatory postural adjustments (APAs). GPi-DBS does not affect anticipatory postural adjustments. APAs are not a mechanism of impaired balance caused by GPi-DBS in dystonia.
