Barrage is a formulation of the pesticide cypermethrin widely used in Pantanal. Sensitivity to Barrage and to Cu was assessed using several aquatic species. The endemic shrimp Machrobrachium pantanalense showed high sensitivity to both compounds. Endemic species should be used for risk assessment in sensitive biomes as Pantanal.
