A diesel engine equipped with particle filter was tested with renewable fuels. Soot oxidative reactivity was assessed by thermal analysis and filter regenerations. Both tests agreed that biodiesel fuel leads to the most efficient regeneration. Paraffinic biofuels enhance the regenerations compared to conventional diesel. Exhaust temperature and composition affect the regeneration process.
