The hydraulic behavior of a sedimentation tank was studied using the finite element method. The sedimentation tank was equipped with adjustable baffles to better analyze particle settling. The simulation results matched well with the experimental data. The particle removal efficiency varied considerably by varying the angles of the adjustable baffle. The results can be used to design a compact sedimentation tank for aquaculture farming.
